youth ministries

Throughout the year at trinity

Junior High Confirmation
Youth in 7th-8th grades spend time weekly on Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 a.m., to learn more about the relationship Jesus has with them in preparation for them to confess their baptismal relationship with Jesus. Confirmation Day is always the first Sunday in May with a Confession of Faith time during the Christian Education Hour and then worship at the 10:45 a.m. service. The class meets weekly from September through May. Students also have a connection with a faith mentor throughout their 7th & 8th grade years.

High School Bible Study
Youth in 9th-12th grades meet weekly during the school year on Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 a.m., to explore how life works as a child of God at their age. A variety of Scriptural and topical studies are focused on throughout the year from September through May.

Junior High Play & Pray
Youth in 7th-8th grades and their friends meet from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month during the school year for a time of fellowship, devotional study and worship, play and refreshments.

Jubilation at Church Leadership
Trinity’s youth provide leadership assistance with the Jubilation at Church Sunday Children’s Ministry. High school youth serve as apprentice leaders with 2 to 12-year-old children on specific Sundays each month. The youth share the love of Jesus with their presence with the kids as they serve.

Junior High Camp
Held annually at Great Oaks Camp in Lacon, Illinois, the camp invites youth going into 6th-8th grades in the fall (after camp) to participate, and friends are always invited! High school youth (going into 9-12th grades) are invited to serve as HS leaders for the camp. A variety of activities take place including Bible study and worship, group building initiatives, high ropes experiences, hiking and fishing, play and just an all-around great time with friends.

High School Refuge & Celebrations
Refuge invites 9th through 12th grade youth to hang out monthly at various homes and at Trinity during the school year for food, time for good play and conversation, and creative devotions. Friends are always invited.

All-Youth Christmas Party
Each December, 6th-12th grade youth and friends gather with the youth from other Peoria-area churches and adults for a celebration party of Jesus' birth. Various activities provide a good opportunity for the young Body of Jesus to grow together.

LCMS Youth Gathering
Every three years Trinity's 8th-12th grade youth and adult leaders gather together with fellow youth and adults from throughout the United States and the world to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. Find out more about this summer's (July 9-13) gathering at lcmsgathering.com.
