Throughout the year at trinity
St. Andrew Acolyte Society
Trinity’s 7th-12th grade youth are invited to serve as trained acolytes for Trinity’s worship services. Youth regularly assist with lighting candles and helping with communion. With additional festival services throughout the year their responsibilities expand to help the congregation worship our Lord.
Junior High Confirmation
Youth in 7th-8th grades spend time weekly on Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 a.m., to learn more about the relationship Jesus has with them in preparation for them to confess their baptismal relationship with Jesus. Confirmation Day is the first Sunday in May with a Confession of Faith time during the Christian Education Hour and then worship at the 10:45 a.m. service. The class meets weekly from September through May. Students also have a connection with a faith mentor throughout their 7th & 8th grade years.
Senior High Bible Study
Youth in 9th-12th grades meet weekly during the school year on Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30 a.m., to explore how life works as a child of God at their age. A variety of Scriptural and topical studies are focused on throughout the year from September through May.
Jubilation at Church Senior High Leadership
Trinity’s senior high youth provide leadership assistance with the Jubilation at Church Sunday Children’s Ministry. Senior high youth serve with leadership presence with 2 to 12-year-old children on the first Sunday monthly. In service, play and prayer, the youth share the love of Jesus with their presence with the children.
Junior High JaM (means “Jesus and Me”)
Youth in 6th-8th grades and their friends meet from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month during the school year for a time of fellowship, devotional study and worship, play and refreshments. We also partner with Peoria-area LCMS churches (Christ, Mt. Calvary & Redeemer) for unique moments like cookouts, nerf gun fight nights, etc.).
Junior High Camp
Held annually at Great Oaks Camp in Lacon, Illinois, the camp invites youth going into 6th-8th grades in the fall (after camp) to participate, and friends are always invited! This camp is a Peoria-area partnership with Redeemer, Christ & Mt. Calvary Lutheran Churches. Senior high youth (going into 9-12th grades) from these churches in partnership with the camp’s staff are invited to serve as youth leaders. A variety of activities take place including Bible study and worship, group building initiatives, high ropes experiences, hiking and fishing, play and just an all-around great time with friends.
Senior High Refuge
SH Refuge invites 9th through 12th grade youth and friends (& in partnership with Christ Lutheran Church) to hang out monthly at various homes and at Trinity during the school year for food, time for good play and conversation, and creative devotions. Friends are always invited. We also partner with Peoria-area LCMS churches (Christ, Mt. Calvary & Redeemer) for unique moments like cookouts, nerf gun fight nights, etc.).
Peoria Youth Christmas Gathering
Each December 6th-12th grade youth and friends gather with the youth from other Peoria-area churches and adults for a celebration party of Jesus' birth. Various activities provide a good opportunity for the young Body of Jesus to celebrate and grow together.
LCMS Gathering
Every three years Trinity's 8th-12th grade youth and adult leaders gather together with fellow youth and adults from throughout the United States and the world to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. The typical cost for a youth is about $1400 with youth paying approximately $475 of that cost and Trinity’s Garage Sales and congregational support providing the remainder of the funds. Find out more about the 2026 (July 3-7) gathering at lcmsgathering.com.
